During the official flag-off of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the commissioning of the party’s new state secretariat in Ilorin, the ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, shared personal reflections while emphasizing loyalty and moral discipline as guiding values in leadership.
Speaking at the event, Aregbesola said his connection to Kwara runs deep, noting that his Arabic teacher was from Ilorin and that his wife is a native of the state. He described the ceremony as a homecoming of sorts and expressed appreciation for the warm reception from the people of Kwara.
Addressing the crowd, Aregbesola underscored the importance of integrity in both public and private life. “I have never slept with any woman other than my wife,” he said, stressing that personal discipline and moral uprightness are essential for anyone seeking to serve the people faithfully.
He urged party members to uphold honesty, unity, and accountability as the ADC builds its presence in Kwara and across Nigeria. According to him, the party stands for service, inclusiveness, and development—values he believes are critical for good governance.
The flag-off event, which drew party leaders and supporters from across the state, marked a key step in the ADC’s preparations for the upcoming elections. Attendees described it as an opportunity to strengthen the party’s structure and mobilize grassroots support ahead of the polls.
Aregbesola reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to offering Nigerians a credible alternative built on transparency, community service, and strong moral principles. He encouraged the people of Kwara to support the party’s vision for progress and accountable leadership.
