The Katsina State Government has ordered all public primary and secondary schools to close until further notice due to rising security concerns. The Commissioner for Secondary and Basic Education, Yusuf Suleiman Jibia, said the decision aims to strengthen security and protect the school system.
The Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board has also directed all basic education schools in the state to shut down. The board said the measure follows growing concerns about the safety of students and staff.
Both states did not give a timeline for reopening but said the closures are part of efforts to prevent further threats to school communities. Officials urged parents, teachers, and stakeholders to remain calm and await further guidance.
