The Taraba State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all boarding facilities in basic and secondary schools as security concerns rise across parts of Nigeria.
The directive was announced on Saturday in a statement by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin. She said the order affects both public and private secondary schools in the state.
According to the statement, the decision seeks to protect students as reports of student abductions continue to emerge from states such as Kebbi and Niger. The government said the measure would remain in place while security agencies work to improve safety in affected areas.
