At least 11 residents were kidnapped on Monday evening after armed bandits attacked Isapa, a community near Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attack took place at about 6 p.m. on November 24, 2025. Witnesses said between 20 and 30 armed men entered the town with a large herd of cattle and fired shots. An elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet.
A community leader, who spoke to National Pilot on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen abducted 11 people, seven of them from one family. The victims include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several children.
The kidnapped residents were identified as:
- Talatu Kabiru, 20
- Magaji, 6
- Kande, 5
- Hadiza, 10
- Mariam, 6
- Saima, 5
- Habibat
- Fatima Yusufu
- Sarah Sunday, 22 (pregnant)
- Lami Fidelis, 23 (nursing mother)
- Haja Na Allah (nursing mother)
Residents said the attackers moved through parts of the town and left bullet holes in walls and doors. Spent AK-47 shells were later found across the area.
Security groups and local vigilantes have launched efforts to track the kidnappers and rescue the victims. Officials have not issued a public statement.
