Two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly have died within minutes of each other, triggering shock across the state. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented Kano Municipal Local Government Area, passed away shortly after news broke of the death of Aminu Sa’adu, the lawmaker for Ungoggo Local Government Area.
Both men were active members of the Assembly, and their near-simultaneous deaths stunned colleagues, party leaders, and residents. The losses come at a time when the legislature remains engaged in key debates affecting the state, deepening the sense of grief within political circles.
The death of Sarki Aliyu Daneji was confirmed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, spokesperson to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. He announced the development in a post on his official Facebook page. No further details on the causes of death were released at the time of reporting.
