The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, earlier scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The announcement was made on Monday in a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on X.
According to Ologunagba, the decision followed an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) held in Abuja. He said the NWC acted under Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) to approve the postponement.
“Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) may recall that the 103rd NEC meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, 15th October, 2025. However, in view of recent developments in the party, the National Working Committee (NWC) … has approved the postponement of the 103rd NEC meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course,” the statement read.
The party urged NEC members to note the change and await further updates from the national secretariat.
The postponement comes as the PDP faces internal pressures following a series of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Despite the challenges, key party leaders have expressed confidence in the PDP’s stability. The Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, recently said no political defections or external influences would disrupt the party’s upcoming National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, scheduled for November 15 and 16.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity and preparation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
