President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau by the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 11, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said the title one of deep cultural and historical importance in Northern Nigeria—shows the Emirate’s confidence in Sambo’s wisdom, integrity, and service to the community.
He described the honour as a well-earned recognition of Sambo’s leadership and contributions to national development. The President noted that Sambo’s humility, statesmanship, and commitment to humanity have remained evident throughout his public service career.
President Tinubu also commended the Emir of Zazzau for preserving the long-standing tradition of honouring citizens who exemplify integrity, unity, and patriotism. He said such recognition strengthens the Emirate’s cultural heritage and reinforces the spirit of national service.
Wishing the former Vice President success in his new traditional role, the President encouraged him to continue mentoring young people and working with traditional and community leaders to promote peace and development across the country.
